Distribution of QaneMate Qanes to COMNET seniors
Seng Ian Hao and Seng Ing Le may be only 12 years old and 10 years old respectively, but their young age did little in hindering their passion for helping people.
On January 25 (Thursday), Ian Hao and Ing Le, together with their mother, distributed a total of 20 QaneMate Qanes to seniors at our senior activity centres at Block 420, 469 and 406. The seniors who received the walking sticks were pleased and touched at their gesture.
Ian Hao and his sister Ing Le invented the QaneMate Qanes three years ago, after they witnessed an elderly lady who lost her balance and fell to the ground, when she bent over to retrieve her walking stick.
The QaneMate walking stick holder keeps the walking stick upright and within reach of the user when it is not in use.
The two children also envisioned that with the QaneMate holder, there will be a reduction in falls in seniors who use walking aids.
