W.I.S.H – Ways in Sharing Happiness
Sponsored by NTUC Club nEbO, 80 senior beneficiaries at COMNET Senior Service under AMKFSC enjoyed a day of cultural activities and fun held at Springfield Secondary School, on January 21 (Saturday). They were accompanied by 90 student volunteers from Springfield Secondary School and Zheng Hua Secondary School.
Titled ‘W.I.S.H’, which stood for “ways in sharing happiness”, the event aimed to connect the different generations through activities like calligraphy and singalong sessions.
At the event, the students initiated a game of “Guess the Other Half of the Picture”, in a bid to bond with the seniors. Later, art educator Dr Tan Ching Yam taught our seniors to draw flowers, after which their drawings were framed in picture frames provided by the event organisers. Students from the schools also entertained the seniors, performing the gu zheng and singing.
As the event came to a gradual close, the entire hall came together and sang along to Chinese New Year songs, much to the delight of our seniors.
