Visit to the Singapore Navy Museum
Sponsored and organised by the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), about 10 youth beneficiaries from Youth Infinity and the Teen-Edge Club programme at Sengkang Family Service Centre under AMKFSC had the opportunity to learn more about the Singapore Navy at a trip to the Singapore Navy Museum near Changi Naval Base.
On the learning journey, our youths went on a guided tour, where they took the road down memory lane and learned of the history the Singapore Navy, as well as the challenges and achievements of early sailors. The teenagers also tried their hands at tying rope knots.
“It was an interesting and unique experience,” a youth shared at the end of the trip. He added that it was exciting to view the artillery, weapons and ships the Navy used.
Others felt that there was a good mixture of interactive activities and engagement, and had been a very educational and eye-opening day.
