Liverpool Football Club (LFC) Soccer Clinic by Standard Chartered Bank
On March 18 (Saturday), at the invitation of Standard Chartered Bank and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, five children beneficiaries from Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre under AMKFSC were invited to participate in the Liverpool Football Club (LFC) soccer clinic, held at Home United Youth Football Academy.
Upon arrival, the children received goodie bags containing many Liverpool FC memorabilia, including a jersey, cap and mini soccer ball. At the soccer clinic, the children had the opportunity to learn and practise various football techniques. The lucky kids also met and interacted with LFC celebrity football legend Gary McAllister, who joined in their training and shared tips with them. Later, he even autographed our children’s jerseys, much to their delight.
After the celebrity encounter, the children took part in a friendly soccer match, putting the skills they had picked up moments ago into good use. Furthermore, their excitement were not limited to being able to play on the field. One of them also enthusiastically answered questions on Gary McAllister and won himself a limited edition set of Liverpool cashcards.
Thank you Standard Chartered and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund for making this day an unforgettable one for our children!
