G5/SIO Charity and Family Day
June 1 was G5/SIO Charity and Family Day.
Together with their family members, about 90 volunteers from G5/SIO at MINDEF gathered at the community area at Block 470 to prepare for the delivery of food rations.
After a briefing by COMNET Senior Service on the dos and don’ts during food ration delivery, off the volunteers went! A total of 271 seniors living within the Ang Mo Kio community benefitted from this food ration distribution, which included staples such as rice and cooking oil, as well as biscuits and coffee.
COL Lee Yi-Jin, AGCS (Plans), also presented Ms Wee Wah Meng, our Corporate Support manager, with a letter of appreciation, and the agency reciprocated by gifting them Recipe Retrospective, a cookbook jointly produced by senior beneficiaries at COMNET Senior Services and students from Nanyang Polytechnic.
