‘Rise Above’ with Youth Infinity

On June 30, 2018 (Saturday), Youth Infinity under AMKFSC participated in the Singapore Anti Narcotics Association (SANA)’s latest Anti-Drug abuse campaign ‘Rise Above’ at Sengkang Community Hub, where President Halimah Yacob graced the event as Guest-of-Honour.

At the event, President Halimah Yacob gave an insightful speech on the impact of drugs on the family and the difficulties faced by Singapore due to the ever changing global drug climate. An ex-youth drug offender and another mother also shared touching stories of their experiences.

The ‘Rise Above’ campaign aimed to raise awareness on the dangers of consuming illicit drugs, and to spread the importance of a parent/guardian’s role in their children’s lives. These aims closely aligned with the work that Youth Infinity, who showcased their knowledge and experiences at the event exhibition.

Youth infinity exhibited the reasons youth may consume drugs, how parents can help and the impact of drug use of mental health. Event-goers had a lot of fun playing problem-solving games at their booth, and President Halimah Yacob even left a heartwarming message for parents there.
