AMKFSC celebrates our 40th Anniversary
Established in 1978, AMKFSC Community Services Limited has come a long way since its founding as a one-stop social service centre in Ang Mo Kio. Over the last 40 years, the agency has expanded and ventured into a holistic range of services that cater to children, youth, families and seniors.
On October 26, 2018 (Friday), AMKFSC celebrated 40 years of building communities with a Charity Dinner held at Raffles City Convention Centre. Our Patron Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong graced the event as Guest-of-Honour, together with Special Guest Minister Ng Chee Meng, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.
More than 420 guests turned up to support the fundraising dinner, and were charmed with an opening performance from our very own OTAI Group under COMNET Senior Service. The seniors, between the ages of 60 and 71 years old, danced to the familiar tune of Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’, showing off their nifty footwork. Event-goers were also treated to an evening of local songs by singing group Peranakan Sayang.
But what would a birthday celebration be without cake-cutting?
Together with our past and present Chairmen A/Prof Ang Seng Bin, Mr Cyril Chua, Mr Michael G Gray, Mr Eric Chan, board members Ms Kavitha Rajan, Mr Lee Kian Soon and Mr Lim Shyong Piau, Honorary Advisor Dr S Vasoo, as well as CEO Dr Vincent Ng, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister Ng Chee Meng celebrated the occasion, as Peranakan Sayang sang the ‘Happy Birthday’ song.
AMKFSC would like to take this opportunity to thank our corporate sponsors, community partners and individual donors for your generous support. We would also like to thank student volunteers from the Diploma in Integrated Events and Project Management at Singapore Polytechnic for coming alongside us to plan and conceptualise the pre-event activities, as well as ITE College Central and Objectifs for working with our children and seniors on the foyer exhibition.
