Journeying down to Wonderland with NatWest Markets
Ever wondered how it’s like down the rabbit hole into wonderland? That’s what our children from Spright Academy (Ang Mo Kio) under AMKFSC, had recently explored alongside a team of volunteer explorers from NatWest Markets at the ArtScience Museum!
This one-of-a-kind exhibition follows Alice's journey through popular culture and took them on a trip through the looking glass into an enchanted world of anthropomorphic creatures such as Cheshire Cats and the Mad Hatter. From various theatrical sets and interactive environments, to integrated audiovisual artworks, the exhibits conjured up the surprising and magical world of Alice and her adventures!
“The tea party experience at the Wonderland is very fun and I enjoyed seeing the change in colours of the tea set!” brought up by Aminah*
The trip to wonderland was not the only thing that surprised the children. They were immersed in a virtual space, which showcased cutting edge digital installations as well as cinematic and interactive displays of forests and animals. It had allowed the children to experience about the rich yet fragile ecosystem that surrounds the nature heritage in the region.
All these would not have been possible without the support from volunteers and partners like NatWest Markets.
Organising and participating in this event were just as meaningful for the employees from NatWest Markets. “One of the main drivers that led to us organising this event for the children from Spright Academy was that many of us want to help give the children a fun and meaningful experience beyond their usual daily activities. Being able to spend time with the children and contribute to this experience was the highlight for many of our colleagues, and a way for us to contribute back to the community that we live in,” said Jin Chuen Lee from NatWest Markets who organised this event.
