Sowing into Minds, Blooming through Generations
The Integrated Service Centre @ Punggol (ISC @ Punggol) was officially launched this morning! Our President, Mdm Halimah Yacob was present to officiate the opening with our Chairman, A/Prof Ang Seng Bin. The ISC @ Punggol is the first of its kind, a one-stop service centre to house three core services to support youths, seniors and persons with mental health issues.
The theme of the event, “Sowing into Minds, Blooming through Generations”, symbolises the importance of building mental wellness across generations. The event highlighted the significance of integrating the three core services, namely Youth Infinity, MindCare and the Senior Activity Hub, to advocate mental wellness and cultivate co-creation and collaborations across generations.
“Through the integration and co-location of services, we aim to co-create an intergenerational culture for both the youths and seniors, where there are more opportunities for cross generational interactions and bonding,” mentioned by A/Prof Ang Seng Bin.
To commemorate the event, we introduced Spring, a coffee table book that compiles beneficiaries’ stories on their journey towards mental wellness and resilience. It also demonstrates how the different services in AMKFSC work together with the beneficiaries to journey through life issues and enhance their quality of life.
Other highlights of the event include an intergenerational art exhibition and performances co-created by youths and seniors. Booths were also set up by community partners to educate participants and residents about wellness and the services offered in the community.
