Community-Initiated Orange Distribution
Our Lunar New Year spirit won’t be dampened by the Coronavirus! As part of a community effort for fellow neighbours, alongside AMKFSC's Community Development Team, residents at Ang Mo Kio and our seniors from COMNET Senior Service, packed mandarin oranges placed around the neighbourhood as goodwill sharing with fellow residents!
This is part of an initiative that shows how despite the virus, we should support each other to stay safe and healthy. In fact, it reminds us of our chinese legend of how we can chase away the "nian"(年) monster and emerge triumphant as a community looking out for each other.
Advisories on prevention measures from MOH were also put up around the neighbourhood to inform fellow neighbours on good practice of personal hygiene.
As they say, a mandarin orange a day keeps the bad “nian" away. These bags of Goodwill Mandarin Oranges are here to wish everyone good health always.
