Volunteer Appreciation Day 2022
We honoured our volunteers who contributed their unique talents to enhance the lives of vulnerable communities at our SG Cares Volunteer Centres (VCs) @ Ang Mo Kio, Punggol and Sengkang’s first-ever on-site Volunteer Appreciation Day since the pandemic.

The event was held at Ang Mo Kio Community Centre and graced by Mr Yip Hon Weng, Adviser to Yio Chu Kang Grassroots Organisations and SG Cares Lead Adviser for Ang Mo Kio town. AMKFSC Chairman A/Prof Ang Seng Bin opened the event with his welcome speech that honoured the tenacity, creativity and passion of our volunteers who overcame the odds and went above and beyond to meet the needs of those who were most vulnerable during the pandemic.
Individual, corporate, and institution-based volunteers who supported our causes were presented with awards for their contributions. Participants were also treated to an exciting line-up of performances from young musicians of Le Magnifique and a ukulele performance by our very own Silver Brooks ensemble from COMNET Senior Service.
Ms Wee Wah Meng, manager of SG Cares VCs @ Ang Mo Kio, Punggol and Sengkang, shared insights on what’s to come in the year ahead. Our CEO Dr Vincent Ng closed the first segment of the day with a few words to celebrate the SG Cares VCs’ accomplishments in 2022 and their journey towards inspiring communities to do good.
For the rest of the afternoon, our volunteers and their families enjoyed a fun-filled carnival with games and prizes. Game booths were hosted by AMKFSC’s services, Youth Infinity, COMNET Senior Service (CREST), Community Hubs, Punggol FSC, and partners from Methodist Welfare Services @ Fernvale, Spectra Football, and AIA Vitality.
We thank Glico (Pocky Singapore), Haw Par Health Care Limited (Tiger Balm Singapore), and Letslookafter for sponsoring our goodie bags and SG Cares for making this event possible! If you’d like to kickstart a meaningful journey with our SG Cares VCs, learn more at linktr.ee/amkfsc_vc_volunteer.
