About The Role

As a Social Worker within the Family Service Centre (FSC), you may be deployed across any of our 4 FSCs based in the Ang Mo Kio, Sengkang and Punggol regions. Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting triage and intake services for members of the community
• Providing casework and counselling interventions for individuals and families
• Planning and conducting group work to support the needs of beneficiaries
• Engaging  in community work to build an ecosystem of assets and resources
• Engaging with and advocating for systems and stakeholders in the community
• Strategising and coordinating interventions to support beneficiaries
• Performing other duties assigned

 

Candidate Requirements

Technical Competencies:

• Degree in Social Work
• Competencies in casework, counselling, risk and crisis management, group work facilitation
• Competencies in working with various formal systems and conduct case conferences
• Good analytical skills

Core Competencies:

• Passion to work with children, youths and their families
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse population
• Strong communication abilities and good written and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to the Code of Social Work Practice standards

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

• Alignment to AMKFSC’s values of Accountability, Mastery, Kindred Spirit, Fortitude, Sparkle and Care
• Demonstrate sound and updated professional knowledge and skills in social work
• Relevant experience in working with individuals and families will be an advantage
